BIOPROSPECTING OF WILD EDIBLE ETHNO MEDICINAL PLANTS OF CULINARY IN SHEVGAON, DIST. AHMEDNAGAR (MS) INDIA

ABSTRACT
The research was designed to gather indigenous knowledge from local people about the traditional and medicinal uses of plants used in their daily diets. The present study was confined to interviews with local people from nearby villages in the tehsil Shevgaon, district Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, India. This indigenous knowledge was collected through interviews with people aged 40 to 80. Frequent field excursions were organized to record local data systematically. A total of 16 species belonging to 14 genera and 8 families were recorded as used by local inhabitants for various purposes, such as medicinal-value vegetables and edible fruits. Most of the species are wild.
