Ambition is one of the most significant forces that stimulates human action in Shakespearean drama. While ambition can inspire to achieve greatness,glory Shakespeare repeatedly proves that uncontrolled or excessive ambition often leads to moral corruption, political instability, psychological disintegration, and ultimate decline. This research aims to investigate how "vaulting ambition" acts as a tragic flaw in Shakespeare's heroes and protagonists, leading to their decline. The phrase "vaulting ambition" itself originates from Macbeth and represents Shakespeare's concern regarding the unintended consequences of aspirations that exceed moral and social boundaries. The study focuses primarily on Macbeth, Julius Caesar, Coriolanus, and Richard III, examining how ambition motivates the central characters, influences their decisions, and contributes to their tragic destinies. Apart from making textual analysis and historical criticism, the research explores the relationship between ambition, power, morality, and fate in Shakespearean tragedy. The study argues that Shakespeare presents ambition as a double-stimulating force: while it induces individuals to seek greatness, it simultaneously becomes destructive when divorced from ethical restraint
