Competency mapping has emerged as a strategic Human Resource Management tool that helps organizations identify, assess, and develop employee competencies required for effective performance and career growth. The present study focuses on understanding the impact of competency mapping on employee career development in the banking sector with special reference to Yes Bank. The study examines employee awareness, training opportunities, skill development initiatives, career progression, job satisfaction, and organizational support. Primary data were collected from 50 employees through a structured questionnaire. The findings reveal that competency mapping positively influences employee performance, career planning, leadership development, promotion opportunities, and overall job satisfaction. The study concludes that a well-structured competency mapping framework significantly contributes to organizational effectiveness and employee career advancement.
