Ficus racemosa Linn., known as the cluster fig tree, is part of the Moraceae family and is one of the important species in the Ficus genus. It is found in countries like India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, China, Malaysia, Australia, and other areas of Southeast Asia. The plant goes by various local names, including Udumbara, Goolar, Dumar, Bodda, Heibong, Jantuphalam, Dimri, and Yogga Dumur. It typically grows near rivers, ponds, and other water bodies, but it can also be farmed. Ficus racemosa has been widely used in traditional medicine, including Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, and Homeopathy. Different parts of the plant have many pharmacological effects, such as acting as an antidiuretic, antitussive, and antiulcer agent. It also has antioxidant, anthelmintic, antibacterial, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, hepatoprotective, hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic, wound-healing, antifilarial, fungicidal, larvicidal, radioprotective, cognitive-enhancing, and potential anticancer properties. This review presents detailed information about the plant's description, habitat, microscopic features, and medicinal uses.
