IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON HEALTH AMONG OUTDOOR WORKERS

This study entitled “A study to assess the knowledge on impact of climate change on health among outdoor workers selected areas at Bhulbhuliya”. Aims: The objectives are to assess the knowledge on impact of climate change on health among outdoor workers, to associate the knowledge level with selected socio-demographic variables. H1There will be a significant association between knowledge with selected demographic variables among outdoor workers. Design and setting: Descriptive study design was utilized in this study. Methods and materials: 60 participants were selected by purposive sampling technique. A structured knowledge questionnaire was utilized to assess the knowledge on health effects of climate change among outdoor workers. Results: The results showed that 51% of participants had moderate knowledge, with only 7% demonstrating adequate and 42% had inadequate knowledge. Conclusion: These findings indicated that outdoor workers have moderate knowledge regarding impact of climate change on health. Awareness health camps and mass media play the pivotal role in reducing these health impacts due to climate change.
