The antibacterial activity of an ethanol leaf extract of Catharanthus roseus from Shri Ram College Nursery Muzaffarnagar, was examined against human pathogenic microorganisms (Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli). Strong antibacterial activity was demonstrated by the tested extracts against every living thing. By employing the Well diffusion method to measure the zone of inhibition, the antibacterial activity was assessed. At 100 mg/ml of leaf extract, Staphylococcus aureus demonstrated the greatest inhibitory activity four zone of inhibition 2 zone, (12mm and 17mm), followed by E. coli four zone of inhibition 2 zone (15mm and 20mm). Additionally, this study looked into how environmental conditions affected the antibacterial activity of this plant.
The phytochemical composition and biological potential of a number of extracts were also investigated in the current study (antimicrobial, antimutagenic, antigenotoxic, and antioxidant).
These phytochemical investigations revealed numerous chemical components that could be in charge of a range of pharmacological activities In the fight against human pathogens, particularly those that cause intestinal infections, flavonoids, glycosides, phenolics, and reducing sugars may be helpful. phytochemical assay in the presence of alkaloid substances. Free radicals are essential to aerobic life and metabolism and play a dual role in all biochemical processes.
human bodies as both beneficial and dangerous species. This study indicates that Catharanthus roseus has complimentary antioxidant activity.
