REVIVING INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF STREETS: A STREETSCAPE STUDY OF SURROUNDING PREMISES OF RAJWADA, INDORE.

Indore has a strong cultural identity, and the Rajwada area is one of its oldest and most active zones. This study looks at the streetscape of local markets areas around Rajwada, with a focus on intangible cultural heritage. It’s mainly focus on understanding how streets play their role and function in daily life, exploring how streetscape configurations in terms of pedestrian paths. Vending zones , and building edges. Streets like Sarafa bazaar Khajuri bazaar taking them as example because they are always active and uses for food , shopping, religious activites, and social interaction.
This study is based on the analysis and study of the Indore market places through site observation and time-based analysis to see how activities change during the day. Also highlights common issues like congestion and encroachment. Overall, study shows how important these streets are supporting cultural practices and how better streetscape design can improve both user experience and cultural continuity.
