Abstract

In today's digital landscape, internet usage has dramatically increased, with consumers opting for digital devices to lessen the time spent on traditional banking activities. The shift to digital payments gained considerable momentum after the demonetization in India in 2016, when the government invalidated high-denomination currency notes to fight black money and promote a cashless economy. This policy, coupled with government initiatives like Digital India, BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money), and UPI (Unified Payment Interface), provided substantial impetus for the widespread adoption of digital payments in India. Although digital payment applications are growing rapidly, customer satisfaction continues to be a major concern. Users experience difficulties such as network disruptions, security vulnerabilities, technical malfunctions, and insufficient digital literacy. The study named ‘Customers’ satisfaction towards services of UPI applications with special reference to Davanagere city’ aims to investigate customer satisfaction related to various UPI services and recommend feasible improvements.
