Social media has become a big part of our daily life, but it is often blamed for increasing mental health problems in young people. This study looked at how social media affects depression, anxiety, and stress in teenagers.
Researchers checked different databases and found 13 studies, and most of them (12) were cross-sectional studies. The results were divided into four parts: time spent on social media, type of activities, level of involvement, and addiction.
All these factors were linked to depression, anxiety, and stress. However, the results have some limitations because of the study methods, sample selection, and measurement issues.
More research is needed to better understand how social media affects mental health, especially through detailed studies and long-term research.
