A study on Customer Perception towards UPI and Digital Payments system in India

Fast advances in digital technology have reshaped how payments work across India. Within the range of digital payment options, UPI has become one of the most commonly used systems, largely because it is simple to use, quick, and broadly reachable. This paper explores how customers view UPI and other digital payment arrangements in India. It concentrates on familiarity, how people use it, user satisfaction, safety-related worries, and willingness to accept digital payments going forward. The study gathered original information from 31 people through a structured survey shared via Google Forms. The responses were processed using percentage-based review, Chi-Square testing, and correlation methods. The results show that users hold a strongly favorable view of UPI. Many participants rely on UPI every day and choose it instead of cash since it feels convenient, fast, and straightforward. Still, issues such as failed transfers, online security threats, and connectivity problems continue to affect confidence. The work concludes that digital payment tools are playing a major role in India’s move toward less-cash transactions. Better safeguards, stronger digital awareness, and upgraded technical systems are necessary to support continued expansion over time.
