Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati (1824–1883) was a great saint, social reformer, and the founder of Arya Samaj in India. He called upon Indian society to return to the Vedic path. His spiritual thought was not limited only to religion, but also deeply influenced social reform, morality, logic, and knowledge. The sole aim of Maharshi Dayanand’s life was to know and accept the truth. He gave the inspirational statement: “Always be ready to accept truth and reject falsehood.”To express his views on religious, social, and political issues, he composed the timeless text Satyarth Prakash. Observing the damage caused by incorrect interpretations of the Vedas, he presented their true meaning before the world. Rising above gender and caste discrimination, he declared that “Everyone has the right to study the Vedas.”The objective of this research paper is to study the spiritual thought of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati — his concepts of soul, God, karma, liberation, worship, and meditation. This research also attempts to understand how his ideas align with or renew the traditional Vedic perspective. Furthermore, it examines the impact of his spiritual approach against socio-religious evils on society.
