Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) represent a rich and diverse intellectual tradition encompassing education, science, technology, medicine, mathematics, agriculture, architecture, philosophy, governance, and vocational practices. In the contemporary era of globalization and digital transformation, there is an increasing need to integrate indigenous knowledge with modern technological advancements and skill development frameworks. This research paper examines the relevance of IKS in the context of technology enhanced learning and sustainable skill development. It explores the historical foundations of Indian knowledge traditions, their technological dimensions, and their applicability in modern education. The paper investigates how digital educational technologies, online learning platforms, distance Education and innovation ecosystems can be aligned with traditional Indian pedagogical principles to create inclusive, ethical, and sustainable models of learning. The study adopts a qualitative and analytical approach based on secondary data from policy documents, scholarly literature, and educational reports. Findings indicate that integrating IKS with technology and skill development can strengthen cultural identity, promote ethical innovation, enhance employability, and contribute to sustainable national development. The paper concludes by proposing a framework for integrating IKS into higher education and digital skill ecosystems with reference to Distance Education.
