The increasing use of mobile phones among secondary school students has become a major concern in the field of education. While mobile phones offer several advantages for communication and learning, their excessive use has resulted in behavioural and academic problems, often referred to as mobile phone addiction. Parents play a crucial role in guiding and regulating students’ usage patterns. The present study focuses on analysing parental attitude towards mobile phone addiction among secondary school students. A descriptive survey method was adopted for the study. The population comprised parents of secondary school students studying in recognized schools in Kerala. A sample of 100 parents was selected using simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using a standardized parental attitude scale. The variables included parental attitude as the dependent variable and gender and awareness level as independent variables. Statistical tools such as mean, standard deviation, percentage analysis, and t-test were used. The results indicate that a majority of parents exhibit moderate to high concern regarding mobile phone addiction. Significant differences were found based on gender and awareness level. The study highlights the importance of strengthening parental awareness and involvement to promote responsible mobile phone usage among students.
