Abstract

In the era of fast-changing world, where the technological advancement and scientific innovations are at peak, the Artificial Intelligence is occupying every sphere of human world, the education sector has also witnessed a drastic change in all over the world. In India, this transitional phase of Indian Education System has started with the launching of Massive Open Online Courses Platforms, that not only provide quality education, mostly free of cost to the learners who cannot even afford it due to their socio-economic conditions by ensuring equity and easy access among them, but also reshape the educational landscape in India, and leads towards the more skilled based, job-oriented education system, that leads to get recognition at international level. Skilled India is the vision or goal of the Developed India, i.e., Viksit Bharat. In this study, the researchers have tried to investigate the contribution of MOOCs Platforms in restructuring the Indian Education System, their impact in global sphere through the qualitative method of document analysis. This study also has tried to point out the challenges that prevents the successful implement of such initiations and the significance of MOOCs in achieving the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat’, that is ‘internationalization of Indian Higher Education’. This study provides a brief overview of all those MOOCs Platforms that are prominently offering courses in UG and PG levels or professional diploma courses to enhance the potentiality of the learners by developing new skills, that helps in their professional enrichment as well as in building the Skilled India.
