Abstract

Highly specific immunoglobulins made in laboratories, monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) are made to identify and bind to specific antigens. By offering focused therapy approaches for a variety of illnesses, such as cancer, autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, and transplant rejection, they have transformed modern medicine. Monoclonal antibodies are categorized as naked, conjugated, and bispecific based on their structure and function. Numerous mechanisms, including antigen binding, neutralization of target molecules, immune response modulation, and activation of immune-mediated cytotoxicity, including complement-dependent and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity, are used by these agents to produce their therapeutic effects.Advanced biotechnological methods, such as hybridoma and recombinant DNA technology, are used to manufacture monoclonal antibodies, which are then purified using chromatographic procedures to guarantee excellent stability and purity.
