The increasing demand for concrete in construction activities has resulted in excessive consumption of cement, which in turn leads to high energy use and environmental pollution. To overcome these issues, the utilization of industrial waste materials as partial replacements for cement has gained significant attention in recent years. This project focuses on assessing the engineering properties of cement concrete blended with Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) along with the addition of polypropylene fibers. GGBS, a by-product of the iron and steel industry, is widely known for improving durability, reducing heat of hydration, and enhancing long-term strength. The use of supplementary cementitious material aims to develop an eco-friendly and sustainable concrete mix. In this study, cement is partially replaced with varying percentages of GGBS and polypropylene fiber. The inclusion of polypropylene fibers helps in improving crack resistance and ductility of concrete. Concrete specimens are prepared and tested for key engineering properties such as workability, compressive strength. It is anticipated that the inclusion of these materials enhanced concrete performance up to an optimum replacement level while reducing cement consumption and promoting waste utilization.
